Bring a little holiday mystery to U.S. history review! Students answer 10 questions about King George III, the American Revolution, and the War of 1812. Correct answers reveal sections of an 80 × 80 pixel picture in Google Sheets.

What's included

  • Two self-checking digital versions: with and without a word bank
  • Word bank with 20 choices; correct choices cross out automatically
  • Teacher directions and clickable Make a Copy links
  • Two printable student worksheets: with a word bank and without a word bank, plus an answer key
  • Both spreadsheet files included as backups

Easy classroom setup

Choose your version in the PDF, make a teacher copy, and assign it in Google Classroom using Make a copy for each student. Students enter answers to reveal the picture, then identify the holiday scene to unlock a festive success message.

Use for middle school U.S. history review, a seasonal station, or early-finisher work. Students may use notes or other teacher-approved resources.

Why include a paper copy?

Because we all have students who occasionally lose their computer privileges! :) The paper copy lets them continue participating without a device. It's also handy for technology issues or a screen-free option.

Digital download only; no physical product. A Google account and internet access are required for the intended Google Sheets experience. Excel behavior has not been tested. The printed response sheet does not reveal pixels automatically.

For use by one teacher with their own students. Please do not redistribute, resell, or publicly post the files or answer key.
